Conference
 

This is the first Assistive Technology Application and Integration Nova Scotia Conference. The conference will focus on successful application and integration of Assistive Technology by both primary and secondary users of all ages and disabilities and in varied settings. Conference participants will include professionals, paraprofessionals, students and parents.

Groups or individuals who wish to participate should submit their proposals for workshops or roundtables as soon as possible. Directions and information regarding submission is detailed below. Please fill out the forms completely as incomplete proposals will not be considered.

Proposals

We will consider proposals that report results of successful models of Assistive Technology delivery programs or procedures, use of current computer hardware and/or applications and adaptive devices by or for people with disabilities. Proposals should focus on practical application rather than theory and should include qualitative/quantitative data and outcome measures.

Particularly appreciated will be proposals for workshops/roundtables that demonstrate the use of software programs, adaptive devices and innovative use of standard computer technology. Proposals for round tables where participants discuss openly, share ideas and opinions are also welcomed.

We will attempt to accept a range of proposals that meet needs across the continuum of Assistive Technology use and expertise and as such, all proposals should be directed towards persons actively using Assistive Technology in education, rehabilitation, vocational or independent living settings, etc.
