The Assistive Technology Centre is proud to present the first ever, Assistive Technology ‘Best Practices’ Conference. This 3-day ATAINS conference (Assistive Technology Application and Integration Nova Scotia) will be held at the Nova Scotia Community College: Lunenburg Campus, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia on April 3-5, 2003 and will explore best practices in Assistive Technology. The purpose in writing to you is to invite you to submit a proposal to present a workshop/round-table discussion at this landmark conference. Event organizers are well acquainted with your work and experience and believe you have much to offer in promoting best practices in Assistive Technology. Through presentations by ‘best practitioners’, product vendor displays and the words of Keynote Speaker, Dr. Marcia Scherer, the goal over the three days of the conference is to increase awareness and promote effective use and application of assistive technology for primary users. For our conference to meet the high standard for quality that we have set, we ask you to please consider joining us as we know that our conference would be richer for your participation. We have ideas about how your participation can best benefit conference participants and would like to know from you how you would like to be involved. We would also ask you to share with us other contacts that, in your opinion, could contribute similarly. Please review this site information at your convenience and feel free to contact Saundra Myers, ATAINS Conference Coordinator, at Saundra.Vernon-Myers@nscc.ca Sincerely, Barbara Welsford, B.Sc., M.Ed.,
